I am a 4th year Jewellery Design student, studying at the Durban University of Technology. I work primarily with textures, colours and shapes derived from oceanic references. Throughout my B-Tech year I have explored my fascination with the ocean in an attempt to discover why I am so drawn to it.
Techniques that I favour in my jewellery manufacturing are forging and enamelling. I like the organic and irregular quality (if left in its raw forged state) that forging gives to the metal. Transparent enamel gives a lovely vitreous shine to the metal, and is my preffered method of introducing colour to my pieces.
